Russia called on China to take part in construction of Samara-Tolyatti railway and passenger aircraft development

Almaty. 21 July. KazTAG – Russia called on China to participate in the construction of Samara-Tolyatti railway and passenger aircraft development, Xinhua news agency reported.

China’s State Council Member Yang Jiechi and Plenipotentiary Representative of the Russian President in the Volga Federal District Mikhail Babich took part in the 1st meeting of inter-regional cooperation council in the format of “Yangtze Volga River”.

“The parties agreed to raise the mechanism of meetings between the regional leaders of China and Russia up to the level of interregional cooperation council, which indicates the beginning of entirely new stage in the bilateral cooperation development,” the report says.

M. Babich noted, in Russia the projects of cooperation between “the two rivers basins” are in the focus of attention considered as a benchmark of inter-regional cooperation between two states. Currently the parties study 69 joint projects, work continuously to expand cooperation in humanitarian field, develop “red tourism” and joint educational projects.

“M. Babich said that the Russian side will undertake new steps to provide foreign investors with land, tax and credit privileges to create favorable environment for them. He stressed, he particularly looks forward to participation of the Chinese side in the construction of Samara-Tolyatti railway and development of long-range wide-body passenger aircraft,” Xinhua writes.

In his turn Y. Jiechi noted the parties should actively participate in major projects of international cooperation, coordinate and support them, strengthen cooperation in the sectors of production facilities and production equipment, put high technology and innovation development as a priority, deepen cooperation and exchanges in the humanitarian field, achieve more fruitful collaboration at the interregional level.
