Russia, Iran and Turkey have agreed on a mechanism to monitor the truce in Syria

Almaty. January 25. Silkroadnews – Russia, Turkey and Iran signed a document on trilateral monitoring the truce in Syria, KazTAG reports.

“It was decided to create a trilateral mechanism to make sure the ceasefire to be observed and prevent any provocations”, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Kairat Abdrakhmanov said at the press conference following the talks on the Syrian conflict settlement in Astana on Tuesday.

According to the minister, the document adopted on the basis of negotiations in Astana assumes a creation of a trilateral mechanism (Russia, Iran and Turkey) to monitor and ensure the truce in the Syrian Arab Republic.

With this he also said that in this document Russia, Iran and Turkey have called on all the groups in Syria to separate of the “Islamic State” and “Al-Nusra” and confirmed their intention to work together to fight with these terrorist groups.

The document also provides for support for the opposition’s participation in negotiations under the auspices of the UN in Geneva.
