Russia offers the SCO to take extra anti-terrorism measures

Almaty. June 8. Silkroadnews – Within the framework of the meeting of the SCO member states’ defense ministers held in Astana Kazakhstan’s defense minister Imangali Tasmagambetov met with defense minister of Russia Sergey Shoigu.

“There is need for a common understanding and consolidated actions in the fight against international terrorism testing to the limit all the foundations that have been formed for ages. And here we need to discuss everything that goes on in the world and work out additional joint measures against terrorism. I hope we will have this opportunity today,” the press service of the defense ministry of Kazakhstan quoted Sergei Shoigu saying in a statement issued on Wednesday.

Today Astana hosts a meeting of defense ministers of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization member states. As a part of the program the third international festival of the SCO member states’ military bands “Trumpet of Peace” is expected to be held with participation of military bands from Kyrgyzstan, China, Russia, Tajikistan and Kazakhstan.
