Russia plans to deliver 1.5 million tons of wheat to Iran per year

Beijing. March 7. Silkroadnews - Russia expects to restart wheat supplies to Iran in the amount of 1.5 million tons per year, Russia’s Energy Minister and co-chair of the intergovernmental Russian-Iranian commission on trade and economic cooperation Alexander Novak said, the Iranian Telegraph Agency (IrTAG) reported.
The delivery volumes, as expected, will reach around 1.5 million tons per year, Novak said.
Earlier on March 6 he said both states’ ministries of agriculture have agreed on a memorandum on the supply of wheat to the Iranian market.
In 2017, Iran imposed a ban on the import of several categories of agricultural products, including wheat.
