Russia rearms Kyrgyz army to confront the threats posed by the IS
Almaty. December 24. Silkroadnews - Russia is helping re-equipment of the Armed Forces of Kyrgyzstan to counter the threat posed by militant "Islamic state" in Afghanistan. This was stated by Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu, reports KyrTAG.
According to Shoigu, "the threat is real". He also stressed that Russia "fully complies with all that is connected with the supply of arms and military equipment, increasing Russian military base, aviation groups, training the armed forces of Kyrgyzstan in the military educational institutions of Russia".
The Minister expressed confidence that joint efforts "will be able to create a system of protection against these threats in Kyrgyzstan".
