Russia to allocate USD 200 mln Kyrgyzstan to implement Customs Union membership roadmap

Bishkek. May 30. Silkroadnews – Russia plans to allocate USD 200 mln for Kyrgyzstan to implement Customs Union membership roadmap. This was reported by the Kyrgyz Minister of Economy, Temir Sariyev.
“Russia is to provide USD 200 mln to Kyrgyzstan as financial aid to implement Customs Union membership roadmap. They money is to be allocated over 2 years. USD 55 mlln of it is to be spent on strengthening the state border”, Mister Sariyev said.
As was reported earlier, the roadmap for Kyrgyzstan’s Customs Union membership was approved at the working session of the High Eurasian Economic Council in Astana yesterday.
“We have decided to create a Fund, assets of which are subject to direct and targeted allocation> They are meant for easing the process of Kyrgyzstan’s integration into the Customs Union bypassing any bureaucratic red tape”, President Atambayev said. He then highlighted that the Kyrgyz party is to provide maximum support to the Fund to ensure that Russian investment is secure.
