Russia to purchase 5 million tonnes of oil from Iran within the framework of “oil-for-goods” deal
Almaty. March 9. Silkroadnews – As a part of the “oil-for-goods” deal Russia is ready to purchase 5 million tonnes of oil from Iran, Iranian Telegraph Agency (IrTAG) reports.
“Iran begins selling 100,000 barrels of oil per day to Russia within the next 15 days and will receive a half of the payment in cash and another half in goods and services”, the report said.
According to Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak, 100 thousand barrels per day makes about 5 million tonnes a year.
With this he also noted that agreements on the terms of the deal should be reached to implement the selling scheme.
