Almaty. August 24. Silkroadnews – Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said the strategy of Donald Trump does not take into account the danger arising from the Afghan branch of the ISIS, Russian news agency “TASS” reported.
It is regrettable that the strategy does not properly reflect the threat that the Afghan branch of the IS terror group poses, actively spreading its influence in Afghanistan, and completely ignored the problem of Afghan drug production, M. Zakharova pointed out adding that the drug production is a large resource base for the terrorists, the report said.
“We have noticed that the new Afghanistan strategy, announced by US President Donald Trump on August 21, focuses on the search for a military solution to the Afghan issue, particularly through increasing the number of foreign troops”, the agency quoted her saying.  With this she also expressed the hope that the expansion of the U.S. armed forces will not violate the sovereignty of Afghanistan.
M. Zakharova also said, Russia is ready to cooperate with both Afghanistan and the U.S. in training the Afghani power structures.
We are ready to continue to assist Kabul in preparing and equipping the national security forces as the primary guarantor of security. We reaffirm our openness to cooperation with both the U.S. and other interested partners, the publication reads.
