Astana. April 25. Silkroadnews – Sasha Baron Cohen served Kazakhstan by introducing it to the rest of the world through his “Borat” movie, as a British political consultant and an economist, Simon Anholt reckons.
“I don’t think it was very bad for Kazakhstan. I think that Borat was beneficial for the country in some way, as it introduced the word “Kazakhstan” to vast audiences. Thus, Sasha Baron Cohen served Kazakh nation by filming his satirical comedy “Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan”, he said at the XXII Eurasian Media Forum in Kazakhstan, Astana.
“That is exactly what instigated a lot of inquiries about tourism opportunities in Kazakhstan. People understand that it was a comedy, that it was a farce”, he added.
At the same time, “Al Jaseera” presenter Adrian Finighan said that all his friends universally reacted to the news he plans to visit Kazakhstan, by simply saying “Borat”.
