Saudi Development Fund to finance construction of 11 schools in Tajikistan
Beijing. June 5. Silkroadnews - The Saudi Fund for Development will finance construction of 11 schools in Tajikistan, the Tajik Telegraph Agency (TajikTA) reports on Tuesday.
A tender for the construction and equipping of 11 general education schools in a number of districts of the republic has been announced in Tajikistan, the State Committee on Investment and State Property Management of the country reports. The implementation of the projects will be carried out using the loan of The Saudi Fund for Development.
Earlier it was reported that the loan agreement on the project “Construction and equipment of a number of secondary schools, phase 4” between Tajikistan and the Saudi Fund for Development (SFD) was signed on May 16, 2017, in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
The project aims to improve general education through the construction and equipping of a number of secondary schools in such regions as Khovaling, Dangara, Kulyab, Vakhsh, Vakhdat, Temurmalik, Darvaz and Ayni. Realization of the project will allow to meet the needs in the education system and increase the number of students in the Republic of Tajikistan.
In particular, the fund will allocate 131.25 million Saudi Riyals (equivalent of $35 million) to finance the project, which is expected to be completed in 2023.
