Secretary of Municipal Committee of Communist Party was sentenced to life imprisonment for bribes

Beijing. May 10. Silkroadnews - Sun Zhengcai, former secretary of the Chongqing Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China, has been sentenced to life imprisonment for bribery of over 170 million yuan ($26.7 million), China Daily reports.
The verdict was announced by the First Intermediate People’s Court of the Municipality of Tianjin.
Sun, who is also a former member of the Politburo of the 18th CPC Central Committee, has been deprived of political rights for life with confiscation of all his personal property.
Reportedly, his illegal gains and relevant yields they generated will be retrieved.
