“Shanghai GM” recalls GL8 minivans from China’s due to steering problems

Almaty. August 8. Silkroadnews – “Shanghai General Motors” recalls the Buick GL8 minivans from the Chinese market because of steering problems, Xinhua news agency reported.
“Shanghai General Motors (GM) has started recalling 6,451 GL8 minivans in China due to problems with the vehicles' electronic steering software, China’s top quality watchdog has said”, the report said.
The recall, as noted, involves Buick GL8 vehicles produced within the period between June 6 and December 6, 2016.
“Due to a problem with the electronic steering support calibration software, the electronic steering support system could report fault code, and the system could fail under some extreme circumstances”, the report reads.
According to publication, the vehicles producer promises to check all the recalled vehicles and repair the software free of charge to eliminate the potential danger.
