Almaty. August 29. Silkroadnews – Since the 18th CPC National Congress, the authorities have invested 401.6 billion yuan into construction of rural roads, “People’s Daily” newspaper reported.
Spokesman for the Ministry of Transport of China Wu Chungeng said that since the 18th CPC National Congress, the central authorities have invested 401.6 billion yuan to build the roads in the rural area, the report said.
This year, he also told, 90.58 billion yuan gathered from the vehicle acquisition tax have been invested into rural roads. This is 36.3% of the vehicle acquisition tax amount gathered in a year.
According to Wu Chungeng, the level of transport provision in rural areas has been continuously improving during the period since the 18th CPC National Congress. By the end of 2016 the total length of roads in rural areas was 3.96 million km, roads have been built in 99.99% of rural areas and settlements, as well as in 99.94% of administrative villages.
