Six countries are interested in building nuclear power plants in Kazakhstan

Almaty. October 21. Silkroadnews - Companies from six countries are interested in building nuclear power plants in Kazakhstan, reports Trend.
As the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, on the construction of nuclear power plants Kazakhstan held consultations with leading global companies with advanced reactor technologies - "Rosatom" (Russia), Areva (France), Toshiba, Japan Atomic Power Company (JAPC), Mitsubishi, (Japan ), CGNPC (China), KEPCO (Korea), Westinghouse (USA), Hitachi-General Electric (Japan / USA).
Foreign companies have provided information about the new reactors with improved safety features, the experience of construction and operation of nuclear power plants and expressed interest in cooperation in the construction of nuclear power plants in Kazakhstan.
To date, selected two promising area for the construction of NPP: Kurchatov town of the East Kazakhstan region and district of the village Ulken, Almaty region (near Lake Balkhash).
Construction of nuclear power plants in Kazakhstan is planned in accordance with the decree of President Nursultan Nazarbayev.
