Southern Chinese city of Shenzhen offers more grants for start-ups for overseas-educated Chinese specialists
Beijing. March 16. Silkroadnews - The southern Chinese city of Shenzhen has decided to offer more startup grants for overseas-educated Chinese students in order to lure more talent to the city to start businesses, the newspaper China Daily reports.
According to the local human resources and social security bureau, the total amount of grants for returning young professionals in 2018 will increase from 15 million yuan ($2.37 million) to 30 million yuan.
The bureau representatives say, the entrepreneurship programs business plans will be evaluated by experts, and the best start-ups will be given up to 5 million yuan.
Shenzhen began offering start-up grants back in 2001. The local government has provided grants for beginners of 947 firms created by specialists returning from abroad.
