By the end of the first quarter, the number of rural migrant workers reached 174 million, an increase of 1.88 million on an annual basis. A total of 430,000 job-seekers were granted jobs, an annual increase of 20,000. By the end of May, a total of 7.81 million registered impoverished people had been employed.

“In the first three months, 1.32 million enterprises were registered and 14,700 businesses were set up each day, indicating the multiplier effect of creating more jobs by encouraging business startups has continued to emerge,” Mo Rong, deputy director of Chinese Academy of Labor and Social Security, said.
