State prosecution asked the court to sentence the head of the Union of Journalists of Kazakhstan to six years and eight months of imprisonment

Astana. September 27. Silkroadnews – The state prosecutor asked the court to sentence the head of the Union of Journalists of Kazakhstan Seitkazy Matayev to six years and eight months of imprisonment, and KazTAG General Director Asset Matayev – to six years in prison, KazTAG reports.

«I ask you to convict Seitkazy Matayev of committing a crime according to Article 190 Part 4, paragraph 2, of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and sentence him to six years and eight months of imprisonment with confiscation of privately owned property, and according to Article 245 part 3 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan to sentence him to six years of imprisonment with deprivation of the right to engage in entrepreneurial activities for up to 3 years (...) finally to sentence Seitkazy Matayev to six years and eight months of imprisonment and confiscation of personal property belonging with deprivation of the right to engage in entrepreneurial activities for up to 3 years and service of sentence in a general penal colony», prosecutor Yerzhan Kurakbayev said while presenting a case on Tuesday.

For A. Matayev the prosecutor asked to convict him guilty according to Art. 190, part 4, paragraph 2 and sentence him to six years of imprisonment with confiscation of privately owned property and serving in a general penal colony.
The prosecution also asked to confiscate to the state the movable and immovable property of the accused, in particular, building, land and non-residential premises in Astana, the building of the National Press Club, two parking lots, residential premises, as well as two apartments in Almaty and cars Toyota Camry 2007, Toyota Land Cruiser 1997, Lexus LX 570 2014.

In addition, the prosecution requested a case to recover more than 216 million tenge of unpaid taxes, 140 million tenge damage on «Kazakhtelecom» case and 169 million tenge on the suit of Liaison Committee in full.
