Bishkek. April 30. Silkroadnews – Surrogacy leads to moral decay of Kyrgyz Society, as Torobay Zulpukarov thinks. The Deputy Parliament Speaker made this comment while MPs were discussing whether to prolong legally allowed surrogacy age from 35 to 40.
Some of the MPs were highly critical of the proposed law, as they think it violates the rules of Islam.
“We are Muslims. You are proposing to conceive children out of the wed lock. You are proposing to artificially conceive babies. You are leading our people to a moral decay”, Deputy Parliament Speaker Zulpukarov and Zairbek Zhooshbekov, the MP, stated.
The MP Niyazbekova replied to those claims by giving the example of Kazakhstan. Kazakhstan has a social program in place that allows people who have no financial means and no access to IVF to conceive their baby artificially for free.
“Are they not Muslims as well?”, she asked rhetorically.
