Tajik Consul wounded in Afghanistan is in satisfactory condition

Dushanbe. May 19. Silkroadnews – The Consul of Tajikistan, who was wounded in Afghanistan is in satisfactory condition, as TajikTA reports.
“The Consul of Tajikistan for Badakhshan Province Rustam Mahmudi, who has become a victim of a gun attack last Friday is in satisfactory condition”, as the head of Tajik MFA’s Information Department Abdulfaiz Atoyev informs.
The surgery was performed by Japanese doctors at one of the hospitals at Kunduz Province.
The consul was attacked by unidentified gunmen on 16th of May. His vehicle was shot at in Badaksghan Province. The consul has received several gun wounds as a result.
Law enforcement bodies of Tajikistan and Afghanistan are currently investigating the incident. None of the organised crime groups has claimed responsibility for the gun attack so far.
Tajikistan has its Embassy in Kabul and consulates in Mazar-i-Sharif, Kunduz and Fayzabad.
