Almaty. February 8. Silkroadnews – Agenda of the meeting between Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Tajikistan Negmatullo Hikmatullozoda and Azerbaijani Ambassador to Tajikistan Abbasali Hasanov included discussion of two states’ prospects of cooperation, TajikTA reported.

“The parties discussed the issues of expansion of trade-economic relations, private sector development, increase in sales turnover, return to flight connection and creation of joint ventures”, press service of the ministry of economic development of Tajikistan informed.

The participants of the meeting also discussed the coming meeting of the intergovernmental commission between the two countries.

The possibility of return to flight connection between Dushanbe and Baku has been considered by the parties at different levels for several years. The Tajik side, in particular, proposed to consider the possibility for flights on this route to be performed by the Azerbaijani airlines.

Dushanbe-Baku-Dushanbe flight was opened on July 10, 2012, later, however, it was suspended due to insufficient number of passengers.

In March 2013 the flight was resumed, yet later suspended once again as unprofitable.
