Tajikistan and Jordan to expand inter-parliamentary ties

Almaty. December 12. Silkroadnews - Tajikistan and Jordan have expressed interest in expanding inter-parliamentary ties, the Tajik Telegraph Agency (TajikTA) reports on Tuesday.
“The day before, in the Jordanian city of Amman, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon met with the the Chairman of the Senate of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, Faisal Akef Al-Fayez. The parties expressed interest in expanding inter-parliamentary relations and stressed the importance of developing these relations to lay the legal foundation for multilateral cooperation, including in various fields of the economy and social sector,” the press service of the head of the state said.
Both sides emphasized their interest in ensuring stability, security and regional creative cooperation, as well as in the rapid settlement of the problems of the Muslim world and shared their constructive views on the joint struggle against negative social manifestations.
In this regard, E. Rahmon said “we must protect our country and the Islamic world from their threats not to allow discrediting the sacred religion of Islam.”
During the meeting, the sides also raised the issues of establishing appropriate institutions between Tajikistan and Jordan to build extensive and mutually beneficial cooperation between the parties.
