Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan discussed issues of compensation to victims in the border conflict on May 7

Bishkek. June 30. Silkroadnews - Representatives of law enforcement agencies of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan discussed the punishment of the perpetrators of the events on May 7 in the village of Kok-Terek, Batken district, as well as the payment of compensation to the victims, Tajik news agency reports (TajiikTA).
Recall, on May 7 in Batken region was a conflict between the residents of border villages of two countries. More than a thousand people gathered. Parties started throwing stones, as a result, about 20 people injured.
As previously reported, Bishkek assessed the damage by the citizens of Tajikistan for about 7.1 million soms ($137 thousand).
According to the results of investigative work conducted by the Batken district police department it was found that Tajik citizens burned gas station, 2 containers (1 container with coal, another 1 with cement), 2 car "KAMAZ", belonging to citizens of Kyrgyzstan .
Goverment of Batken district registered 14 cases of hooliganism, deliberate destruction and damage of property, 9 facts of a criminal case under article (hooliganism) and (intentional destruction or damage of property) of the Criminal Code.
