Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan signed a cooperation program

Dushanbe. July 18. Silkroadnews - Foreign Ministers of Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan signed a cooperation program for 2014, including border issues, according to the Tajik news agency (TajikTA).
"Following the talks, the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan Sirojiddin Aslov and Erlan Abdyldaev signed a bilateral cooperation program for 2014, which provides the consultations on topical issues of bilateral, regional and international cooperation", - said the Tajik Foreign Ministry.
The parties discussed the full range of bilateral and multilateral issues and interaction within regional organizations. They called for the revitalization of bilateral intergovernmental commissions on complex interactions and the delimitation and demarcation of borders.
Ministers noted the need for a joint investigation in the incident at the border, and discussed measures aimed at preventing similar incidents in the future. The Tajik side has proposed a number of concrete steps aimed at de-escalation of tensions, the peaceful resolution of existing problems and the strengthening of mutual trust in the border zone.
Also during the visit Foreign Minister of Tajikistan met with President of Kyrgyzstan Almazbek Atambayev. Sides noted the positive dynamics of the relations between the two neighboring countries, stressing that its expansion is in interes for both countries.
At a meeting with Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Djoomart Otorbaev S.Aslov discussed the intensification of bilateral trade and economic ties.
