Tajikistan and United States discussed cooperation in the fight against drugs

Almaty. August 20. Silkroadnews - Tajikistan and United States discussed cooperation in the fight against drugs, according to Tajik Telegraph Agency (TajikTA) on Wednesday.
"Director of the Agency for Drug Control (ADC) in Tajikistan Rustam Nazarzoda yesterday met in Dushanbe with the head of United States Central Command combatting with drugs (US Centcom) John Povelones. During the meeting, the sides discussed issues of cooperation between agencies and US Сentcom on implementing the program for the fight against drugs", - reported in the public relations center of ADC.
Head of the ADC informed the guests about the interaction with law enforcement agencies of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, jointly conducted operations on a "controlled delivery" of preventive activities carried out jointly with the ministries and agencies of Tajikistan, representatives of religious denominations in the framework of the "National Strategy to Combat Drug Trafficking in the Republic of Tajikistan for 2013-2020 ".
He also talked about cooperation agencies with Kazakh, Kyrgyz and Russian counterparts on the ongoing joint operations.
Director of the agency stressed that in the current situation, the current Tajik law enforcement need for training and retraining of ADC, particularly in the field of combating "money laundering", derived from drug trafficking, operational analysis.
