Almaty. January 15. Silkroadnews - Tajikistan in 2014 reduced the production of cotton by about 14 thousand hectares, reported Tajik news agency (TajikTA) on Thursday.
Noted the Ministry of Agriculture of Tajikistan annually establishes the fact of reducing the acreage of cotton.
According to a representative of the Ministry of Agriculture, in 2014 for cotton was allotted about 178 thousand hectares. Yield was about 373 thousand tons of raw cotton, which is 5.1% less than the plan.
He also noted the annual decline in the value of cotton on world markets, which directly affects the lack of interest of farmers in the cultivation of cotton.
