Tajikistan plans to increase budget spending in 2017 by $160 million
Almaty. October 24. Silkroadnews – Tajikistan plans to increase budget expenditures by $160 million next year, Tajik Telegraph Agency (TajikTA) reported on Monday.
“Tajikistan’s Finance Ministry proposes to increase the state budget next year by almost 1 billion 270 million somoni (more than $160 million). In particular, the Ministry of Finance plans to increase funding for public authorities and management by 80 million somoni (over $10 million),” statement said.
According to the ministry’s proposal, the draft budget for 2017 provides for $19.863 billion somoni ($2.523 billion) of expenditure budget. This year the expenditure budget was initially approved in the amount of around 18.595 billion somoni ($2.362 billion), though later “the crisis” forced the government to reconsider the expenditure part of the republic toward the costs decrease.
This summer the Minister of Finance of Tajikistan Abdusalom Kurbonien told reporters that, given the economic crisis burnt out, it was decided to reduce the expenditures part by 450 million somoni (more than $57 million).
According to the Ministry of Finance, the total state budget for January-September of this year amounted to 12.567 billion somoni ($1.596 billion) making 97.4% of the adjusted plan.
Traditionally tax revenues stand for about 65% within the republic’s total budget income, the share of non-tax revenues reaches 10%, the remaining part is covered by the current revenues, grants, capital revenues and other.
