Tajikistan plans to increase fruit and vegetable products supplies to Russia

Almaty. March 29. Silkroadnews - Tajikistan can boost the export capacity and increase the volume of fruit and vegetable products supply to Russia, the Tajik Telegraph Agency (TajikTA) reported on Tuesday.

The chairman of the chamber of commerce and industry (CCI) of the Republic of Tajikistan Sharif Said has addressed a letter to the Minister of industry, trade and development entrepreneurship Novosibirsk oblast N.Simonov, as well as to governors of St. Petersburg, Sverdlovsk region, Novosibirsk region, Krasnoyarsk region, Penza region and mayors of Ufa, Kazan, Perm on readiness of the Republic of Tajikistan to strengthen and increase the vegetables, fruits, preserved food, honey, melons and dried fruits export volumes to Russia.  

In his letter the CCI head also asking to share with his organization the list of the country’s fruit and vegetable enterprises and wholesale trade organizations with relevant information to establish the direct contacts between the economic entities of the two countries to conclude further contracts for the supply of fruits and vegetables to the Russian regions.

Tajikistan expects to increase significantly the volume of deliveries of fruit and vegetable products to Russia through the engagement of one’s private farmings. Today the republic’s export to Russia makes up to 80% of the country’s agricultural production.

Earlier it was reported more than fifty Russian specialized companies showed their interest to purchase the fruits and vegetables from Tajikistan.
