Tajikistan ranks 70th in world rating on quality of roads
Beijing. June 4. Silkroadnews - Tajikistan ranks 70th among the 137 countries in the road quality rating, the Tajik Telegraph Agency (TajikTA) reported on Monday.
The World Economic Forum (WEF) published a rating of Road Quality index, saying among 137 countries of the world Tajikistan ranks 70th with index of 4.1.
The authors assessed the states’ road infrastructures on a scale of one to seven. No country scored the highest score.
Among the former Soviet republics Azerbaijan takes 36th place, followed by Lithuania - 37th, and Estonia - 38th.
Georgia ranks 82nd, Armenia - 85, Latvia - 107, Russia - 114, Kazakhstan - 115, Kyrgyzstan - 122, Moldova - 128, Ukraine - 130. Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan and Belarus have not been included in the survey.
The best situation with the road infrastructure is in the UAE, Singapore, Switzerland, Hong Kong and the Netherlands, and the worst roads are in Mauritania, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Haiti, Madagascar and Guinea.
