Tajikistan's GDP growth amounted to 6.7% in 8 months

Almaty. September 15. Silkroadnews – Tajikistan's GDP growth amounted to 6.7% in 8 months, Tajik Telegraph Agency (TajikTA) reported on Thursday.

«Tajikistan's gross domestic product for the first eight months of this year amounted to 32.351 billion somoni (over $4.1 billion), which is a 6.7% growth on a year-on-year», the agency for statistics under the President of Tajikistan informs.

Within the GDP structure for January-August 2016 17.8% stand for agriculture, hunting and forestry, fishing and fish farming, and 15.1% – for industry, including energy.

Over the past year and a half, a share of agriculture in GDP fell 5.7%, while the share of industry grew 3.1%.
According to the statistics, by the end of 2014 the share of agriculture within GDP made 23.5% with 12% for the share of industry.

Note that in the coming decades the Tajik authorities plan to turn the republic into a developed industrial-agrarian country.
