Tajikistan will cancel the cotton sales tax

Almaty. May 30. Silkroadnews – Tajikistan plans to cancel a tax on the sale of cotton, Tajik Telegraph Agency (TajikTA) reported on Monday.

“Amendments to the law “On state budget 2016””, Tajikistan’s government submitted to the lower house of parliament assume the tax allowances for certain companies and organizations in 2016, meaning the cancellation of tax on the sale of cotton fiber,” publication states.

With this an export duty is introduced in the amount of 10% of the exported cotton fiber’ customs value.

It is also planned to decrease and set at 5%-level the amount of the value added tax (VAT) for the construction companies, educational institutions, and public catering enterprises (at present the tax rate is 18%).
“The amendments in case are aimed to support the domestic producers,” the parliament officials note.
