Tatarstan is ready to help Kazakhstan to build a new refinery

Silkroadnews - Republic of Tatarstan (RT) is ready to participate in the construction of the fourth refinery in Kazakhstan, but the authorities have not yet turned to Tatarstan with such a proposal. This was announced by Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan Ravil Zaripov,transmits KazTAG.
According to him, Tatarstan would be very glad to cooperate with Kazakhstan in the petrochemical industry.
He recalled that the trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Tatarstan is about $1 billion.
"Tatneft today produces about 32 million tons of oil. Among these, 14 million today we recycle in petrochemical products. Last year was launched petrochemical complex with refining capacity up to 7 million tons of oil, where the level of processing comes to 97%. Practically, we are moving away from oil", - he said.
In this case, R. Zaripov said that it is a refining of heavy sour crude.
R. Zaripov said that 20-21 million tons of oil will be processed in Tatarstan by 2020.
According to him, it comes to producing plastic, rubber, polymers and other materials.
Recall, oil, and gas condensate in Kazakhstan amounted to 81.7 million tons in 2013, which is 3.2% more than in 2012. Processing of oil in 2013 reached more than 16 million tonnes against 15.9 million tonnes in 2012.
However, Kazakhstan traditionally imports about a third of total consumption in the country of high octane gasoline. Meanwhile, authorities say that after the completion of the reconstruction of three existing refineries in 2016, Kazakhstan will fully meet its own fuel.
