Tehran and Beijing signed agreement to expand military cooperation

Almaty. November 15. Silkroadnews – Iran and China have agreed to expand military cooperation, IrTAG writes.

The appropriate document was signed in Tehran by Iran’s Defense Minister Hossein Dehghan and his Chinese counterpart Chang Wanquan.

The agreement provides for the exchange of military experience, in particular in the field of training and cooperation in fight against terrorism.

The parties discussed the joint military exercises. Also, both countries strive for “creation of a collective movement against the threat of terrorism”.

Major general Mohammad Bagheri, the Chief of Staff for the Armed Forces of Iran, expressed Iran’s readiness to hold joint military exercises with China. At the meeting with the Minister of National Defense of China Chang Wanquan the Iranian representative spoke of plans to modernize the two countries strategic partnership, having noted that Tehran and Beijing establish close relations in the defense sector.
