Tehran does not use oil for political purposes, said Iranian Foreign Minister

Astana. April 13. Silkroadnews - Iran will not use oil and gas for political purposes. This was stated by Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, reported KazTAG.
In addition, he confirmed the seriousness of Iran's intentions to become an important supplier of gas to Europe.
"I believe that we will not compete in Europe. We have the largest reserves of gas, and we can be a safe source of any interested party. Iran has the reputation of a country that does not use energy resources as a political weapon, we have never done it. We - a reliable partner", - Iranian Foreign Minister said during a lecture at the Diplomatic Club Academic KazGUU in Astana, answering questions from European diplomats.
He also reiterated Iran's determination to deepen its cooperation with the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and the Eurasian Economic Union. According to him, in Kazakhstan, Iran is ready to deepen its economic presence.
"Different our companies operate in Kazakhstan in different areas - the construction of roads and other activities, such as mining, which provides opportunities for joint ventures between Iran and Kazakhstan. But other fields are the transport and transit. We can provide, and we provide a good passage for Kazakhstan to have access to international markets through the Persian Gulf and Gulf of Oman. Infrastructure is built very quickly. We are very happy that the compound railroad between Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan and Iran has started to operate"- said the head of the Iranian Foreign Ministry.
