The Aga Khan Museum in Canada will tell about the contribution of the Islamic civilization in the World Heritage

Silkroadnews - «Aga Khan Museum in Toronto (Canada), whose work is devoted to the overview presentation of artistic, intellectual and scientific contributions that Islamic civilization has made in the world heritage, opens its doors to visitors on September 18" - said the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN ).
The permanent collection of the museum includes more than one thousand exhibits, including masterpieces that reflect a wide range of artistic styles and materials.
Portraits, textiles, miniatures, manuscripts, ceramics, tiles, medical texts, books, and musical instruments are more than ten centuries of human history and geographically extend from the Iberian Peninsula to China.
"The world of Islam and the Western world need to work together more effectively to strengthen mutual understanding, particularly at a time when the interaction and mixing of cultures is most active. We hope that this museum will contribute to a better understanding of Muslim nations in all their religious, ethnic, linguistic and social diversity "- quoted the Aga Khan AKDN.
Since 2007, over 1 million people got acquainted with the works of art from the collection of the museum.
