Almaty. September 25. Silkroadnews - The government named the cause of the stampede near Mecca, killing more than 700 people, the agency TASS.
"The reason for the tragedy in the valley of Mina near the Saudi city of Mecca was a failure to comply with some requirements of the pilgrims. Many pilgrims came (for the common prayer), neglecting the schedule and the time that they were determined to start a movement", - such opinion was expressed by the Minister of Health of Saudi Arabia, Khaled al-Faleh.
According to Euronews, the authorities created a special high commission to investigate the circumstances and reasons that led to the tragedy.
Saudi Arabia's King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud expressed his condolences to the bereaved families. Help for the victims provided more than 4 thousand employees of civil defense of Saudi Arabia and hundreds of volunteers.
Recall, on September 24 in the valley of Mina, located a few kilometers from the city of Mecca, for the prayer on the occasion of the main Muslim feast of sacrifice Eid al-Adha (Kurban Bairam) gathered hundreds of thousands of pilgrims from many countries.
