The capacity of the gas pipeline from Turkmenistan to China will increase to 80 billion cubic meters by 2017
Almaty. February 16. Silkroadnews - The Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources of Turkmenistan notes that commissioned in late 2009 Turkmenistan-China pipeline is now rapidly increasing its capacity, reports Trend.
"By 2017, the capacity of the system from Turkmenistan to China will increase to 80 billion cubic meters", - says the publication.
It is also said that under the agreement signed between CNPC and "Turkmengaz" by the end of 2021, Turkmenistan will annually supply 65 billion cubic meters.
The capacity of the first two lines of the pipeline by the end of 2010 amounted to 30 billion cubic meters.
Meanwhile, in late 2014 completed the construction of the third line with capacity of 25 billion cubic meters of gas per year. By 2015, the capacity of the pipeline from Turkmenistan to China is 55 billion cubic meters a year.
As recalled by the agency, in September 2013 the leaders of Turkmenistan and China signed an agreement to build a fourth gas pipeline with capacity of 25 billion cubic meters of gas per year. This branch will be held from Turkmenistan - Uzbekistan-Tajikistan- Kyrgyzstan- China. Completion of the construction is scheduled for 2017.
