The Chinese company will upgrade Angren TPP in Uzbekistan for $243 million

Tashkent. October 16. Silkroadnews - China Harbin Electric International Company Ltd started upgrading Angren thermal power plant (TPP) in the Tashkent region, informs State Joint-Stock Company (SJC) "Uzbekenergo".
"The general contractor contracts with suppliers for the manufacture and supply of 150 MW generator, steam turbine and boiler. Delivery of the equipment is scheduled for the fourth quarter",- indicates the report of "Uzbekenergo" on Thursday.
Harbin Electric and "Uzbekenergo" in September 2012 signed a contract for the modernization of thermal power plants. Under the contract, the Chinese company will build a "turnkey" new power capacity of 150 MW district heating selection for burning high-ash coal. Term - 2 years. As a result of the modernization of coal combustion at power plants will increase from 20% to 45% (1 million tons).
Financing of the project with total cost of $242.6 million will be funded by the Chinese Eximbank by loan of $165.6 million and equity of "Uzbekenergo" - $77 million.
The current installed capacity of eight units of "Angren TPP" - 484 MW. Station, partly coal-fired (during the heating season), was commissioned in 1957. It provides electricity to major industrial facilities and population of Tashkent region.
