Almaty. February 15. Silkroadnews - The Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Temir Sariyev said that the decline in country’s economic growth will continue until June, according to the Kyrgyz Telegraph Agency (KyrTAG).
According to him, much of the decline in economic growth in the first half of 2016 is owed to the monthly production gap trend of the Kumtor mine forecasted to continue until June.
“At present the economic decline is observed in both Russia and Kazakhstan, this factor cannot but affect the national economy and it does. It should be noted in the fourth quarter of 2015 the government had an understanding that from the economic point of view 2016 is expected to be even more challenging than 2015. The country’s development shall be affected by a slowdown in the industrial production and slowdown in the economies of the major trading partners,” - T. Sariyev said.
He also noted “to minimize the external and internal factors, the government has developed an action plan for 2016 to implement the program “Stability, trust and new opportunities””.
The Prime Minister added to assure the economy’s positive growth and reduce the “Kumtor” impact a diversification through the launch of new fields and productions shall be continued.
“We have set an ambitious plan to bring the GDP volume by 5.2% by the end of 2016. To assure the positive economic growth and reduce the impact of “Kumtor” project we will follow diversification policy through the launch of new fields and production sites. First of all, the full production capacity shall be provided for the gold mines of “Taldy-Bulak Left Bank”, “Bozymchak” and “Kaidi” which is expected to raise the gold production by 2-3 tons. Also the launch of major projects in the energy sector and transport infrastructure shall be implemented, such as Kambar-Ata 2, the alternative road North-South, projects of small hydropower plant,” - said the head of the government.
The Prime Minister assigned the heads of the local governments to open not less than 10 companies at every settlement area.
