The EEU macroeconomic policy guidelines for 2016-2017 will be presented to the heads of the union states on May 31

Almaty. May 17. Silkroadnews – On May 31, 2016, the presidents of the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) member states will be presented the main macroeconomic policy guidelines of the union countries for 2016-2017, KazTAG reports.

The regular meeting of the EEU Council was held in Moscow on May 16. The meeting addressed a number of issues in the areas of integration and macroeconomics, trade, economic and financial policy, industry, technical regulation, energy and infrastructure, customs cooperation.

“The EEU board members approved the draft decision of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council “On the main macroeconomic guidelines of the Eurasian Economic Union member states for 2016-2017”.  Thus, the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council plans to submit it to the presidents of the Eurasian Economic Union member states on May 31, 2016,” the release said on Tuesday.

The document, as reported, identifies the most important short- and medium-term challenges facing by the economies of the member states and provides recommendations to address them.

“The main targets are based on the analysis of the results of socio-economic development of the union countries for 2015, the results of monitoring over the EEU states compliance with the macroeconomic indicators that determine the sustainability of economic development and progress in the implementation of similar document adopted last year,” release emphasizes.
