Almaty. June 19. Silkroadnews - The first batch of Kazakhstan cargoes is delivered to Iran by railway Kazakhstan-Turkmenistan-Iran, informs the Iranian News Agency (IrTAG) on Friday.
As the head of the north-east railway of Iran Reza Qurbani, delivery of the first shipments from Kazakhstan to Iran by the "New Silk Road" marks the beginning of regular cargo transportation between the three countries on the new railway line.
According to him, the party goods were delivered in 45 railcars. They were shipped and delivered to Iran through the transition Incheborun in northeastern Golestan province after the signing of a memorandum on the joint meeting of the heads of the railway departments of Iran and Kazakhstan.
Qurbani said that at the meeting and the conference "New Silk Road" were discussed issues of cooperation between Iran, Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan and some other countries in the field of transit of rail freight. In addition, other topics of the meeting were issues concerning the rail infrastructure of Iran and its neighboring countries, the available potential and activities of the transport corridors passing through Iranian territory. The participants of the meeting decided to make greater use of the route Incheborun - Bandar Abbas as an important component part of the "New Silk Road".
