The first nuclear power plant in western China will start operating in the second half of 2015

Almaty. February 25. Silkroadnews - In the second half of 2015 will be launched the first unit of Fanchengan nuclear power station, which will be the first nuclear power plant in the west of China, said the agency "Xinhua".
"NPP locates on the sea coast near the city of Fanchengan Guangxi (Southwest China). In the first phase at the plant will operate two units. By the end of 2014, the first unit has already passed certain tests and declared ready for operation in the second half of 2015. A second unit is now at the stage of installation of basic equipment",- said the publication with reference to the Deputy General Director of Fanchengan NPP Gong Guangcheng.
After the commissioning of the first two units, Fanchengan NPP be able to supply 15 billion kW/h of electricity per year, said G.Guangcheng.
Construction of Fanchengan NPP started in 2010 as one of the top 23 sites, included in the project of large-scale development of the western regions of China. At this nuclear power plant is planned to build 6 units with a capacity of 1 million kw each.
