Almaty. November 16. Silkroadnews – On Tuesday the house of representatives of the U.S. Congress voted overwhelmingly (supported by 419 voters, with only one vote against) to extend for 10 years the law on sanctions against Iran, TASS writes.

The document is noted to allow the US president to impose restrictions against those involved in the development of Iran’s ballistic missiles and supporting terrorism, as well as those ones guilty of violation of human rights, however, the term of office expires on December 31.

Republican Ed Royce, chairman of the House Committee on Foreign Affairs, said at the meeting, the sanctions remain a “critical tool” for the U.S. executive branch allowing “to reduce the damage caused by dangerous nuclear deal”.

The matter in hand is about international agreement that guarantees the peaceful nature of Tehran’s nuclear program. The Republican party votes against this document actively.
