The international government program on strengthening the security along the border with Tajikistan is created because of deterioration of situation in Afghanistan - Bordyuzha

Astana. February 12. Silkroadnews - At the moment we are working on the creation of the interstate program to strengthen the security of the state border of Tajikistan with Afghanistan, said CSTO Secretary General Nikolay Bordyuzha.
“In general we evaluate the overall situation in Afghanistan as deteriorating. Only yesterday I read a consolidated document on the situation in Afghanistan. All that is written there is negative. These appraisals are given by our countries’ experts and representatives of the authorities in terms of the military forces efficiency of Afghanistan, capacity of the central government of Afghanistan, operations of Taliban and other terrorist and extremist organizations, such as the Islamic Movement of Turkestan and Uzbekistan, ISIS, so, among other things they also give appraisal to the very serious situation that is now formed along the border. (...),” - said Nikolay Bordyuzha during the multimedia press-conference on Friday.
“I believe that the situation there is alarming and because of that we take specific measures, including strengthening of military capabilities, and work on building the interstate program strengthening the security of Tajikistan’s state border with Afghanistan,” - he added.
He noted that the officials of Tajikistan take all the necessary measures as well.
“Over the past 2 years the Tajik authorities made serious steps to strengthen the security along the Tajik-Afghan border, build the territorial defense forces, improve the military forces efficiency and efficiency of the border troops in Tajikistan, develop infrastructure along the Tajik-Afghan border. All this, indeed, is done to prevent the negative scenario development for the situation in the region,” - the head of the Organization said.
