Almaty. June 16. Silkroadnews - Tehran intends to propose Ashgabat a scheme of barter trade, according to which the Iranian side will pay for imported Turkmen gas by gas equipment and engineering services, informs the Iranian News Agency (IrTAG) on Tuesday.
As the adviser to the Minister of Petroleum of Iran Mohammad Taqi Amanpour, barter deal with the northern neighbor is calculated for the period of 10 years, and its total amount should be $30 billion.
According to him, today Iran in the average pays about $3 billion a year for the natural gas supplied from the Islamic Republic of Turkmenistan.
In addition, he said that under the proposed scheme, Turkmenistan will also be able to pay for Iranian goods in a simplified manner.
