The national border control strengthening is related to the preparation for the Navruz celebration, Uzbekistan’s border guard service says

Almaty. March 18. Silkroadnews - Within the framework of preparation for the “Navruz” holiday celebration the Border Troops of the National Security Service (NSS) of the Republic of Uzbekistan have taken measures to strengthen the protection of the state borders, including those one with Kyrgyzstan, the Uzbek Telegraph Agency (UzTAG) reported on Friday.
“To provide the border control the additional armored vehicles have been involved. The military equipment specified has been deployed in the territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and the protection of the state border areas is carried out in accordance with bilateral agreements without crossing the undocumented areas,” - the National Security Council reported.
On March 18, 2016, due to the repair works conducted the passing through the international check-point “Madaniyat-road” has been suspended unilaterally, which the Kyrgyz side was timely notified on in the prescribed manner by the border control service.
The SNB State Border Protection Committee once again urged the Kyrgyz counterparts to refrain from spreading the information conflicting with reality to avoid complications in relations between the border agencies of the parties.
Earlier Kyrgyzstan has filed a note of protest to Uzbekistan due to blocking of the part of the road Kerben-Ala-Buka in Alabuka district Jalal-Abad region of the Kyrgyz Republic and setting up two checkpoints by the Uzbek military forces.
