The new airport area is ​​18.2 hectares. It islocated in the village of Zhongyuan Qionghai city, 15 km from the conference hall for the Boao Asian Forum.
According to the information, will be built one runway with length of 2.6 thousand meters and a width of 45 meters, capable of taking internal regional flights.
Total investment in the construction of the airport will be 1.127 billion yuan ($183 million).
According to the plan, the annual passenger traffic of the new airport will reach 480 thousand man, cargo - 1440 tons, the number of takeoffs and landings - 4950.
The airport will be put into operation on the eve of Boao Forum for Asia in 2017.
