The parliamentary elections will cost Kyrgyzstan more than $16.4 million - the Ministry of Finance

Almaty. June 22. Silkroadnews Deputies of the Jogorku Kenesh estimated the cost of the upcoming fall parliamentary elections at 1 billion soms ($16.4 million), reported KyrTAG the press service of the Ministry of Finance.
Press service informed that about 19.2 million soms will be allocated to the Ministry of Culture, Information and Tourism, as well as local authorities. They will receive funds for a campaign to collect biometric data.
The increase of cost happens due to the introduction of new election technologies and collection of biometric data from citizens of Kyrgyzstan.
