The pipes suppliers for the Kashagan field will be Japanese and German companies

Almaty. March 3. Silkroadnews - Suppliers of 200 km of pipelines with a total value of more than $1 billion for the Kashagan field, will be Japan's Marubeni Itochu Steel Inc and German Butting GmbH and Co. KG, reports KazTAG citing the newspaper "Ak Zhayik".
"According to our sources, 70 km of pipes will be purchased from the Japanese company Marubeni Itochu Steel Inc, specializing in the manufacture and sale of steel products. The remaining 130 km from the German company Butting GmbH and Co. KG, which specializes in the manufacture of longitudinally welded pipes, valves, tanks, and so on", - says the publication.
As explained by the Director of the project "Kashagan" Giancarlo Ruyyu, new pipes are made up from steel with a corrosion resistant alloy plating, they will meet the requirements of operation, taking into account the sulfur oil and gas.
The start is scheduled for spring 2015, and expected to be completed in the second half of 2016. The total budget of the project "Kashagan" for 2015 will be $4.2 billion.
As previously reported, pipelines will be layed by the company ERSAI Caspian Contractor LLC with a contract of $1.2 billion for 2015. The contract for the repair work on the failed portion of the pipeline on land received Alliance Isker - Bonatti Kazakhstan LLP and Kazakhstan Caspian Offshore Industries LLP ($11 million). Inspection of pipelines - KKS-Sicim LLP ($25 million), services for independent verification of the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan - Lloyds Register Kazakhstan LLP ($11 million). Residential barge will be provided by Caspian Ocean LLP for $1 million.
Recall, the Saipem, through its subsidiary ERSAI Caspian Contractor LLC signed a contract to build two pipelines at the Kashagan field worth $1.8 billion. According to various estimates, the cost of replacement of pipes and compressors will be $4.3 billion.
On February 11, Energy Minister Vladimir Shkolnik said that resumption of oil production at Kashagan are planned in the second half of 2016 remain.
