The President of Belarus signed the EEU Customs Code

Almaty. April 12. Silkroadnews – President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko has signed the Customs Code of the EEU, BELTA writes.

“President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko signed the Customs Code of the EEU”, the statement says.

As reported, at the meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council in St. Petersburg on December 26, 2016, the EEU states leaders signed a new edition of the Customs Code of the EEU. President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko explained his refusal to sign the Customs Code by saying that many agreements in this area did not work.

The new code to replace the Customs Code of the Customs Union adopted in 2009 is expected to enter into force on July 1, 2017. The document is aimed to establish the foundation to move to the unified customs regulation within the framework of the Eurasian Economic Union.
