The price of Brent crude oil fell below $60 a barrel for the first time since July 2009.

Almaty.December 16. Silkroadnews - The cost of North Sea Brent crude oil for the first time since July 2009 fell below $60 a barrel, according to rbc.ru.
At 10.45 MSK on the London electronic trading price a barrel of Brent was $59.92. In New York, the US WTI crude oil at the current session trading mostly below $56 per barrel, reaching at 10.45 MSK low of $55.19.
Bloomberg agency believes that the new reduction contributed to rumors that US producers would further increase oil production in the fight against OPEC for a place in the market.
Oil prices continue to fall on Friday, December 12, when the International Energy Agency (IEA) lowered the forecast demand for hydrocarbons in 2015.
